really :hmm: never thought it as a reg cleaner....

Code: Select all

CCleaner a utility for cleaning the debris in the operating system. In the course of their work CCleaner (Crap Cleaner) is looking for and removes unused files. These include: cookies, history, visiting sites in IE, temporary Internet files, search strings, files, Recycle Bin, etc.

CCleaner cleans the following components:

    Internet Explorer
    Cart
    The Clipboard
    Temporary Windows files
    Windows Logs
The list of recent documents (in the Start menu)
The history of executed commands (Start)
The history of the assistant search in Windows XP
Obsolete Data Prefetch in Windows XP
    Memory dumps after crashes Windows
    Chkdsk file fragments

Advanced options allow you to clean:

    The cache priority menu
    Cash Tray posts
The cache sizes and locations Windows
The history of aid to the user
    IIS log files
    Additional Folders
I use to use tuneup utilities but now use Wise Care 365, of cause a portable version

And CCleaner also cleans the registry from obsolete and faulty entries whilst it lets you backup your registry before making any changes.

I've also switched to Wise360 now. I've been using Iobit's Advanced Systemcare for a long time, but I ran a cleanup with Wise365 afterwards, and it found quite a lot to fix and clean. Plus Wise365 does not bother me with constant popups asking me to buy the full version like all of Iobits programs do.
So once again, thanks for the tip, doc.
