I usually go straight to the forum on PhantomP2P and click View new posts and scroll through them. Sometimes the list of new posts are so long that I can't scroll through all of them at once, but if I don't they will be reset the next time I come back. So I thought it'd get the source code and see if I could implement something clever, and stumpled on the unreadposts parameter to the search script, which was an acceptable solution (if sorted by date). I later learned that there is also a proper link to the function in the portal page.

Okay, but long story short. What is your opinion about having the function on top of the forum next to View your posts and View new posts? In reality it would probably make View new posts redundant.

Added "view unread posts" to the navbar for both light & dark themes

(& to clarify : "view new" shows new posts since the last visit, "view unread" shows all unread posts - so not quite the same thing :wink2: )

Not sure if I should be posting this here, but I believe it is appropriate at this time. :hmm:

It seems the View New Posts have stalled and not refreshed since this date...

http://phantomp2p.com/forum/viewtopic.p ... 83#p586383

It is nearing 8 pages that I have read days ago.
What is the time frame for new posts to disappear from already viewed topics and posts?

Thank you for your time and hard work. Much appreciated.

Had 5 pages yesterday but it appears it was sandy catching up on games he missed while he was away. So I do not think there might be something wrong because only had a bit more than one page today.

It was my guess that Sandy had broken the space-time continuum with all those posts.

Regardless of that though, does the board not have some kinda 30min auto-refresh when not viewing the board for for even up to about 9-10hr period while I am at work?
All "view new posts" expire after a specified time on all boards I visit, unless there might be something wrong.
Maybe I will try and clear my cache, but in past experience, it has not worked.

Again, thank you for your time DC. It is always very much appreciated.

Seems the board only is remembering some of the most recent posts made before you log out, it remembers your previous session and refreshes automatically on your next log in.

You broke nothing sandy
