[PS] How i made my Par20 entry - tutorial

Post by Budda07 » December 9th 2007 - 4:45 pm

Today im goin to try to show you how i made this:
Image
And to be honest this was a really easy sig to make

i started by searching for a good stock background and found this
Image

i then opened up a new document 600 pixels X 150 pixels then opened my stock background and added to whats goin to be the sig
Image
and resized it to make it fit more (edit>free transfom hold the shift key when resizing to keep things even)
Image
now its time to add the render and again its a bit too big so i re-sized it to give it a better fit
i then duplicated the layer a couple of times (two ways you can do it either right click on the layer and hit duplicate or drag the layer to this:Image)
Image
on my first layer i went filter>blur>Gaussion blur and used these settings:
Image
Image
on the next layer i set it to luminosity
Image
next layer set to overlay opacity 60% and got this:
Image
next step was a nice simple border so i took my line tool out
and while holding down shift (gives you a perfect straight line) i added a white line across the screen
Image
next i added a few effects to my line (right click on the shape layer and hit blending options)
Image

i then duplicated the shape layer and moved it to the bottm of the sig
Image
almost there just a bit of text and thats it

pick a text that you think goes i went for final fantaty that i got from http://www.dafont.com/
i added my txt and set the layers to overlay
Image
and thats it easy eh?
i've tried to make this pretty easy to understand but if you dont get any of it let me know :)
