Don't think you can really go wrong with any of them tbh, obviously the more expensive choices have better options and just do more.

I went with the pi over the fire stick because:

1. has LAN port
2. external storage
3. amazon updates might break something
4. The pi is modular: so upgrades/repairs are cheaper/easier. New board comes out, need more storage, new psu, etc.
5. Versatile, no longer want it as a media player, you can turn it into an emulator, vpn server, whatever else.

However you might be best with with a cheap android box. The only reason I didn't go down this path was I wasn't too sure about kodi updates continuing to work on older android systems and the effect that would have on the addons, so I played it safe and went with the more open system.
